Does Family Sharing Make a Game Offer Ineligible?
Does Family Sharing make a game offer ineligible? If a family member already downloaded the game, treat it as not a new install and pick another title.
The short answer
Usually yes for that title. If a family member already owns the game, your download is often a family redownload, not a new advertised user. Skip it and choose a game with a Get button and no family purchase history.
This is a different check from having installed the game yourself. You may never have opened the title. The store can still treat it as already owned.
Who this applies to
Anyone in an Apple Family Sharing group with Purchase Sharing on, or anyone who installs from a Google Play account that another person in the house also uses.
If you use one Apple ID, never shared purchases, and live on one Play account, this page is not your issue. EarnMoneyRewards has one Lootably wall. We cannot see Apple’s family list or a publisher’s returning-user flag.
Cloud download vs Get
Check the store before you tap Start on Games. The offer timer can start on that click.
| What you see | What it usually means | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud download, or the game sits under a family member in Apps / Purchased | Someone in the group already got this title | Skip |
| Ask to Buy, or a parent must approve the install | A shared or child Apple ID is in the purchase path | Skip. EarnMoneyRewards is 18+ |
| Get or Install, and the title is absent from your list and every family member’s list | No shared license on this Apple ID | Continue only if you also never installed it yourself |
| Play Store shows it already on another device with this Google account | Same store account, different device | Skip |
Apple’s help: with Purchase Sharing on, you can open the App Store, tap your profile picture, open Apps, pick a family member, and download their apps. That control is a redownload of an owned title, not a first-time store install.
Do the lookup without installing. If you already took the family download, you are not a clean new user for that title.
Why a family license is not a new advertised user
Game campaigns pay for a new player from a tracked link. A mobile measurement partner records the install and later events. Advertisers often use a re-attribution window (a common default is about 90 days). A redownload inside that window is frequently a reinstall, not a new-install postback.
Family Sharing adds a second problem:
- Apple can treat the app as already purchased by the group.
- The publisher can see Game Center, an Apple ID restore, or a receipt.
- Restoring an iCloud backup that already had the game is not a new AppsFlyer install.
Your phone can be new and still fail the new-user test. A card on the wall is not proof of eligibility. We do not claim every advertiser rejects every family download. The safe rule is still skip. Rewards are not guaranteed.
Apple Purchase Sharing vs Google Play Family Library
These are not the same product.
Apple. When Purchase Sharing is on, App Store apps a member downloaded can appear for everyone else, if the developer allows Family Sharing. You do not need to parse the listing: if the game is under a family member, treat it as owned.
Google Play. Family Library can share purchased apps with up to five members. Google’s help says you cannot share free downloads or in-app purchases. Most game offers are free, so Family Library is usually not the Android trap. The Android trap is the same Google account on a tablet or old phone. That is prior-install history, not a family license.
Do not add a second Play account or Apple ID to look new.
A before-you-click checklist
- Use your own EarnMoneyRewards account. One person, one IP, 18+.
- Screenshot the full task list and deadlines. Do not tap Start yet.
- On iPhone or iPad: App Store → profile → Apps. Check your list, then each family member.
- If the exact game is there, pick another live card.
- If you see Get, also confirm you never installed that title on this device or Apple ID.
- One real phone, one store account, normal network. No VPN.
- Tap Start only when you can install immediately from the page it opens.
- After the first event, check Dashboard. Pending is about 48 hours. That hold is not a family-license override.
If you cannot tell whether the family owns it, skip the game.
What not to do
- Do not create a second Apple ID, a child Apple ID, or a second EarnMoneyRewards account.
- Do not sign into a family member’s Apple ID on your phone.
- Do not hide the purchase and retry. Hiding can drop it from the shared list. It does not erase advertiser, receipt, or device history.
- Do not turn Purchase Sharing off after a family download and treat that as a reset.
- Do not restore the game from iCloud or copy it from a family iPad.
- Do not buy an in-app item until a first milestone is actually pending.
Those steps are not a support path.
If you already installed from a family license
Stop spending. Keep the app installed so a legitimate event can still sync. Check Dashboard once.
If the task is pending, tracking worked. Wait for the hold. If nothing appears after the card’s stated wait (if none is stated, allow about 24 hours), do not reinstall. Use the 10 tracking fixes, then send one support report: your EarnMoneyRewards email, the task screenshot, device and OS, and that a family member already owned the title. No passwords or wallet seeds.
Support cannot manufacture a new-user postback the advertiser never recorded. A level screenshot does not override a family license. Only available balance counts toward the $2.50 minimum. Crypto only (USDT TRC20 or BTC).
Bottom line
Family Sharing is a store-license check, not a loophole. If the game is already in the family purchase list, it is the wrong offer. Pick a title that is new to you and to the group, start from the tracked button on Games, and stay on that device.
Rewards are not guaranteed. Offers come from third parties. Pending, reversal, and eligibility rules still apply after a clean start.
